1997 Honda Accord Coupe 2.2 ES

ENGINE: F22B5 16v 150HP / automatic

I’m not gonna lie – I never was and I still am not a fan of Mk5. I think it’s the worst generation of Accords… but they are still great cars.

The main reason I bought this coupe was that I wanted to build JTCC inspired track toy. And that’s still my goal, however, it’s not gonna happen any time soon. When I bought this car, it was non-runner. The garage that was looking into overheating issues misdiagnosed the problem and while carrying “repairs”, they messed up engine timing and bent 3 valves… I took it apart and managed to repair the damage and then find what the real problem was regarding overheating – it wasn’t blown headgasket, it was just faulty sensor replaced with cheap aftermarket part. The car is now functional, but I’m not touching it until I’m ready to gut the interior, do cool 90’s race livery and boost the shit out of this 2.2 powertrain.
